Pros and cons of Qfile Pro app for iPhone and iPad
Qfile Pro app good for
Previously videos in download folder could play with native either Qfile video player.
However, it doesnt play the videos after version up.
It seems bug, I am awaiting for the fix.
Other than this, all fine.
iOS 10.2
Qfile is latest as of 20170118.
This is one of the best apps Ive ever used and it keeps getting better. -Great job developers!
The fact that the developers continue to update this app is excellent.
Just what Ive been waiting for. Especially the auto-upload function from the camera roll. If only theyd stop renaming files upon upload. Just keep the filename as it is, like IMG_1628. JPG instead of Photo_2013_09_15_14_16_39_1.JPG
So much support around the Qnap NAS devices cant be taken for granted. What a great development.
Excellent decision to move to universal app, works great on iPad now and iPhone.
New interface is move in right direction.
Some bad moments
I want to be able to delete data (pictures) with one click like in the Apple foto app.
As long as this does not work the app (and qphoto) is useless to me.
I bought this NAS with the nearly SOLE purpose to stream media to my devices and and looked long and hard at supported codecs. I dont want to be the guy that stirs the pot, but was there some fine print I missed where its even LEGAL of QNAP to pulled the decoding ability of Dolby exercising their patents when the solution (I believe) is to just have QNAP do the right thing as a company and pay the fees for each owner to maintain ALL functionality our QNAP NASs had (in conjunction to the mobile apps) the day we bought it? You can ADD functionality and swiftly take it away, whatever you like, I know THATS your right, but I swear I used to be able to On The Fly Transcode to preserve data (while on LTE) of ANY video, in any format, with virtually any video or audio codec? Not that seems to one work for those movies that are already nearly natively supported by mobile devices H264 MP4 w/AAC audio, etc.? Am I delusional? Did it use to on the fly transcode anything even if it wasnt hardware supported and required extensive CPU usage? I thought the purpose of on the fly was to convert, in real time, WHATEVER combination your device needed it to be in (or even just to reduce size of the date transfer)??? Now I can only pick a 3rd party player (sucked it up and bought Infuse Pro v4 thats PAID the fees to be able to use but I still cant transcode and THEN play the result?
Qfile has worked well for me for years on a number of iPhones. With the latest update to Qfile, the auto-upload feature for photos no longer works. You see the photos in the task manager, but they dont upload. This happened first on my iPhone 5s then an iPhone 5, both on iOS 9.3.2. Auto-upload on the iPhone 5 continued to work properly until I updated the Qfile app. My TS-239 Pro II+ runs on firmware v3.8.4. App says it works with 3.8.0 and above. Auto-upload is a great feature I hope to get back.
Now you cant upload mass photos. It renames each photo to image.jpg and overwrites it. Leaving you with having to upload each file individually and renaming.
Keeps location services running all the time and drains my battery. Looking for a better solution!!
Apple should buy Qnap, and integrate the Qnap system fully across all systems. Those of us who dont like monthly cloud fees will rush to get..
Usually Qfile Pro iOS app used & searched for
